wochenend-planung

Nach einer recht stressigen ersten Woche (verschlafen, hetzen, etc) freue ich mich auf mein Wochenende. Werde mit einer grossen Gruppe von AuPairs aus mehreren Clustern eine Fahrt auf dem Potomac River machen, von DC Georgetown nach Alexandria (dort 2-3 Stunden Aufenthalt) und wieder zurueck. Freu mich schon sehr, mal ein bisschen was von der Stadt zu sehen!

After I had a very exhausting first week (oversleeping, rushing,...) I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm going to a cruise on the Potomac river with a big group of other AuPairs from different clusters. We're going from DC Georgetown to Alexandria (2-3 hrs stay) and back to DC. I'm so excited to see the city!

omg I saw this on my last day in Towson, it was about 15cm long and really beautiful! I also saw a hummingbird yesterday in my new garden and was so excited! They actually live in some of our trees!

Also, ich wollte nur schnell sagen, dass ich gut angekommen bin. Die Family ist immer noch super, habe heute schon ein bisschen Verwandtschaft kennengelernt, wir waren mit den Eltern von meinem Hostdad fruehstuecken, seine Schwester und deren Familie waren auch da - war echt lsutig! Gestern Abend waren wir bei den Nachbarn zum Barbecue eingeladen, da hab ich so einiges ueber Amerika erfahren, bzw meine Vorurteile haben sich zT bestaetigt. (Patriotismus, Waffen, etc.) Aber es war alles in allem eine schoene Ankunft in Bethesda, der Ort ist sehr schoen (das was ich bislang gesehen habe). Morgen muss ich anfangen, Auto zu fahren und noch so einiges erledigen! Das Haus ist auch sehr toll, total gross und geraeumig. Mein Zimmer liegt im Keller, ist sehr gross und ich habe auch ein eigenes Bad. Mein Laptop funktioniert auch (sobald ich ein Adapter gekauft habe) und ein Headset bekomme ich vielleicht bald vom Hostdad. Soweit alles in Ordnung.

Just wanted to tell you quickly that I'm in my new hostfamily now. They're all very nice, today I mwt the rest of them (my hostdads parents and his sisters family). We went to have breakfast with them. Last night we were at the neighbours and had some barbecue, I got to know a lot about America (partriotism, weapons, ...). But it was after all a really nice arrival in Bethesda. Tomorrow I'll have to drive the car for the first time, but that won't be a problem because I drove the same car in my previeous hostfamily as well. The house is really big, my room is big too with an own bathroom. Unfortunately I need to buy an adapter first to use my laptop, but there's a pc in my room which I can use. Though everything is fine.

catching the last sunbeams

Letzte Woche haben wir die meiste Zeit im Wasser oder auf dem schattigen Spielplatz verbracht, angenehm kann man das wohl nur nennen. Das Wetter ist super, morgen ist mein letzter Tag - noch einmal arbeiten. Werde dann abends nochmal was mit den Mädels machen, downtown fahren oder so, und am Samstag meine Reise antreten. Zum Glück bleib ich im gleichen Staat, uns trennen also keine Welten!

Werde jetzt wahrscheinlich schon morgen oder am Samstag umziehen, da das alte AuPair meiner neuen Family jetzt doch schon kurzfristiger nach Hause fliegt und nicht ins Re-Match geht. Gut für mich, ich freu mich auf meine neue Family, es ist einfach nur noch doof, hier in Baltimore zu sein. Werd die Kids sehr vermissen, aber das ist glaub ich auch das Einzige.

I´m probably moving tomorrow or on saturday, because the current AuPair of my new family wants to go back to Germany earlier - she doesn´t go into re-match. That´s good, I´m looking forward being in my new family! It´s so weird staying here in Baltimore! I´m going to miss the kids really much, but thats the only thing actually.
